Graffiti is Risky Business
Being a graffiti artist in NYC is a bit like playing the game of Risk. Establishing territories and not letting anyone invade and take over is an important part of the art of graf war. Vincent from the LES sent us this great story and photos that shows the battle in action!...

"driving by houston and bowery and i stopped to take pictures of the new keith harring mural when i noticed something going on in the right corner. i caught the graffiti writer MARTY (smart crew) in broad daylight taking his spot back from Giant (who put an Obama poster over him)... Good for him though because he's had that spot since 6/6/06 and nice to see he still maintains it... Unfortunately, I went back a few hours later to get pictures of the finished fillin and I see some Obama supporters (who had no idea who put up that poster) cleaning it for Giant, and Marty was already buffed within 3 hours."

Story and images thanks to Vincent from the LES
