Westminster Dog Show tips and tricks!
NYC's 2006 Westminster Kennel Show is next Monday & Tuesday and tickets are still available! Last year we had a fantastic time and posted tons of photos... Westminster photo round-up and Behind the scenes at the dog show

Here's a few tips and tricks for getting the most out of the show:
- Monday is the day the small breeds are shown, Tuesday is Best in Show competition (the 2 most popular events), take your pick.
- Go for the entire day. In the afternoon the arena is broken down into multiple show rings for breed competition.
- All the dogs spend the day in a big hall and the trainers talk to you and let you pet the dogs. Lots of doggie freebies are given away too.
- You can walk onto the show floor during the day to see the individual competitions up close. You can also go backstage into the area where the groomers get the dogs ready for competition!
- For the main evening events sneak into the good seats. Keep your eye out for a couple empty seats in the first couple rows (that stay empty for a while), then walk up and sit in them as if they're yours.
