for several months we've been following the news regarding the closing of the legendary NY rock club CBGB's. this week Jossip reports that "CBGB's, which is fighting for its 31-year-old life, is embarking on a series of benefit concerts". more on upcoming benefit concerts. and the NY Daily News has some interesting coverage, including info on the many NYC icons that have closed recently (Fulton Fish Market, HoJo's.)

the closing of CBGB's is such a great loss to NYC and the history of Punk music. we can't imagine the NY rock scene without it. there's lots of strong opinion out there...
