the #1 law of winter subway survival
DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING! germs from winter colds and flues spread like mutherfuckers in the subway. wear your gloves in the station and on the train. if you can't deal with that, pull your shirt or coat sleeve into your hand to use a barrier when you grab the polls or railings. or keep you hands in your pockets and don't touch anything. another tip is to cover your mouth a bit with your scarf, coat or shirt when standing in crowded trains (breathing through the material will help keep spraying germs from people breathing and coughing around you from being inhaled.) it's a germy pit down there, these tips have helped us avoid a lot of colds.
